♥ Sweet Sour Spareribs


3 pounds spareribs, cut into 2-inch pieces

marinade:

3 tablespoons sherry
5 tablespoons shoyu
3/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup oil (for frying)

sweet sour sauce:

2 tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
3/4 cup cider vinegar
1 small can pineapple juice
1/4 cup shoyu

1 can chunky pineapple (optional)

mix together all ingredients for marinade. marinate spareribs for about 30 minutes. in a pot slowly brown the spareribs, cover and let it simmer for 25 minutes. combine all the ingredients for the sweet sour sauce and add it to the spareribs. let it simmer, covered for 20 minutes or until it's tender, stirring occasionally. add the drained chunky pineapple.
