♥ Apple Drumsticks

12 skin-on drumsticks
2 cups apple juice
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup shoyu
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon butter
salt and pepper

generously coat the drumsticks in salt and pepper, and place on wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet. bake the drumsticks for 30 minutes and then flip and cook for another 30 minutes. meanwhile make the sauce, bring to a boil, the apple juice, vinegar, shoyu, sugar, red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt. once to a boil, reduce heat to medium and let it simmer until the sauce is syrupy and coasts the back of the spoon about 25 minutes. set aside until the chicken is done. stir in sesame seeds into the sauce then transfer the chicken to a large bowl and add the sauce and butter and toss to coat, season with salt and pepper and transfer the chicken to a plate and drizzle the remaining of the sauce over the chicken. enjoy!
